For MSPs running projects in ConnectWise

Your PSA knows everything. It tells you nothing.

ConnectWise records every hour, ticket and note. It was never built to show a project manager where nineteen live projects stand on a Monday morning, or which engineer is already two hours over before the day begins.

The same nineteen projects as a health dashboard: 58% on track, six needing attention, three running out of budget early The same nineteen projects as rows in the projects grid The list The answer

Drag to compare. The same nineteen projects, both from ConnectWise. One is what you scan. The other is what you act on.

What it's for

Your project team does three things all day

Everything in here serves one of them. ConnectWise still holds the data, so nothing has to be reconciled later.

See

Know where everything stands

Read the whole portfolio on one page: what is on track, what is quietly burning through its budget, and which deadlines land this week. Every figure is clickable, so a count of six projects needing attention opens those six.

Run

Move projects and people forward

Edit a cell in the grid, drag a card to a new column, book an engineer onto a ticket, tick off a milestone. All of it posts to ConnectWise as you do it, under the name of the person who did the work, not a service account.

Report

Keep clients and leadership informed

The hours, milestones and activity are already there. You add the part only you can write: what is outstanding, what happens next, what you need from them. It goes out under your logo, now or on a weekly schedule.

A guided look

See it in action

Real screens, filled with sample data so nothing is blanked out. The figures called out beside them are the numbers on the screen, not illustrations.

Know where everything stands before you open a single project.

Delivery dashboard: budget leaderboard ranked by burn gap, stale projects, and a per-engineer utilization grid
Delivery. Shows where money is going out faster than work is coming in. The leaderboard ranks by the gap between the two, so a project at 73% spent and 30% done sits above one that is simply expensive.
My week dashboard: an hour grid of logged and scheduled time, plus the viewer's own projects
My week. Answers one question per person: am I behind. Logged time and booked time on the same hour grid, separately or side by side.
Portfolio Gantt grouped by category with completion bars and milestone markers
Gantt. Tells you whether two big projects are about to land in the same week. Every project on one timeline, grouped by category, client or owner. The solid part of each bar is work completed and the diamonds are milestones.
Onboarding review: active and on-track counts, progress against go-live dates, and a milestone chart by phase
Onboarding review. Which new client is about to miss go-live. Every onboarding measured against its date, with the ones falling behind sorted to the top and a milestone chart by phase underneath. AI review is optional and reads the data without changing it.

Run

Move the work and the people. Everything you change here lands in ConnectWise as you do it.

Dispatch board with one column per engineer, capacity meters and scheduled blocks showing company and project
Dispatch. A column per engineer with a capacity meter above each one. Every block names the company, the project and the work, and unscheduled tickets sit on the left ready to drag onto someone's day.
Projects grid with sortable columns, health colouring and inline editing
The grid. For when you need to change ten things quickly. Sort, filter and group every project, then edit a cell in place. Each edit posts to ConnectWise as you make it.
Project detail: hours and budget, milestones, phases, team and recent activity
One project. Everything you would otherwise open four ConnectWise screens to find. Budget, milestones, phases, team, notes, attachments and the activity feed, with tabs for time and tickets. Flag anything waiting on client sign-off so it stops getting lost.
Kanban board with columns defined by the workspace
Kanban. Change a project's status without going to find the status field. Columns you define, mapped to your ConnectWise statuses, and moving a card writes the new status back.
Swimlane view showing each project lead's workload by stage
Swimlane. Shows who is carrying too much before they tell you. One lane per project lead.
Project milestones with completion state and dates
Milestones. The dated checklist that puts the diamonds on the Gantt.
Calendar view of one engineer's scheduled work
Calendar. One person's week, for when the whole dispatch board is more than you need. Your own event types and time zone.

Report

Send the client something they will read, without writing it from scratch every month.

Report builder: audience and period controls with the author's own notes on the left, and a live branded client report preview on the right
The report builder. Pick the window and the audience, and the report builds itself from real hours, milestones and activity. Client-facing hides budget figures and internal notes. Your own notes stay with the project, so what you wrote last month is waiting when you write this one.
Project time ledger grouped by day with member, work description, hours and billable flag
Time. Where the hours in that report come from. Every entry against the project, grouped by day and totalled. Log time here and it lands in ConnectWise under the engineer who did the work.

Security

Connecting your PSA is a big ask

ConnectWise holds your clients, your contracts and every hour your team has logged. Here is exactly what we do with that access.

Your identity, your rules

Everyone signs in with Microsoft, so your own MFA and conditional-access policies apply without us doing anything. We never issue a Willow Boards password, so there is none to leak, reuse or phish.

Your keys never reach a browser

Your ConnectWise credentials sit encrypted in an isolated secrets vault. They are never written into our source code, never stored in the database beside your data, and never sent to anyone's browser.

Isolation is structural

Each workspace's data is separated at the storage layer, and every request is bound to its workspace before any of our code runs. That binding is not a filter a developer could forget to apply.

Every change is on the record

We log each write to your ConnectWise with who made it, when, from where and what changed. Every write also passes an allow-list, so only the fields you edited can move. The log is yours to read whenever you want.

Support can look, never touch

When we help you troubleshoot, our access is read-only, expires by itself, and is recorded at both ends. We cannot change your data or your ConnectWise, even by accident.

AI stays off until you say so

Every AI feature ships switched off, and stays read-only once you turn it on. It summarises and suggests. It never writes to ConnectWise. You connect your own API key, feature by feature, so the provider is your choice.

We would rather answer your security team's hard questions before you connect your PSA than after. Our full write-up covers data handling, roles, retention, incident response and the subprocessors we use. Ask and we will send it.

Questions

Before you connect anything

The questions MSPs actually ask us on the first call, answered the way we answer them on the call.

Ask us something else
Does Willow Boards replace ConnectWise?

No, and it is not a migration. ConnectWise stays the system of record. Every project, ticket, note and hour lives there before and after. Willow Boards reads from it and writes back to it. The only things we keep are the ones ConnectWise has nowhere to put, like your board columns and dashboard layouts, so there is never a second copy of your data to reconcile.

Does it write back to ConnectWise, or is it read-only?

It writes. Status changes, project and ticket notes, time entries, milestones and schedule entries all land in ConnectWise. Every write passes a field allow-list, so only the field you actually edited can move, and each one is logged with who made it, when, from where and what changed. The one exception is AI, which reads and summarises but never writes.

What do we need on the ConnectWise side to connect?

An API member with a public and private key, plus your company ID and a client ID. You paste them once in Settings, and we test them against your instance before storing anything, so a wrong key fails at that moment. If your ConnectWise is on a different host or region, you can point us at your own URL.

Will time and notes land under the right engineer?

Yes. Map each person to their ConnectWise member and their entries post under that member. Anyone who adds their personal ConnectWise My Account keys goes further still, and their writes authenticate as them, so the audit trail inside ConnectWise names the actual human who did the work.

Who needs a licence?

Anyone who signs in. Sign-in runs through Microsoft, so it is your existing accounts with your MFA and conditional-access policies already applied. Admins, project managers and engineers each see a different amount of the product, and the server enforces those permissions, not just the interface.

How long does it take to get running?

One session. Connect ConnectWise, pick which statuses and work types you actually use, invite your team, and the portfolio is populated from your live data. There is nothing to import and no historical clean-up to do first. Boards, templates and report branding can be shaped afterwards, while people are already using it.

What does it cost?

We are not publishing pricing while the beta is closed. The MSPs onboarding now are helping set it, and it would be dishonest to post a number we intend to revise. You will see the price before anyone asks you for it.

What happens to our data if we stop?

Your ConnectWise is untouched, because it was always the record. On your word we delete the workspace outright: every stored row and your vaulted credentials go with it.

How is our ConnectWise access protected?

Sign-in through Microsoft, credentials in an isolated vault that no browser ever sees, workspaces separated at the storage layer, not by a query filter someone could forget, every write on the record, and support access that is read-only and expires by itself. The full write-up — data handling, retention, subprocessors and incident response — is on the security page.
